I'm now an IT strategist with my own business, LANZen, having worked for many years for big consultancies, like NCR, Olivetti, Olsy, Wang Global and ICL.
I moved into this field because I felt frustrated that so many great ways of working aren't adopted by business. This happens because most innovative developments don't come from the mainstream channel, so the right people never get to hear about them. We just see the same, tired old offerings pushed time and time again. So, what I do is evangelise about what these can do for my client's business.
Recently I set up a partnership, Genis LLP as an ideas factory. The first idea launched was a great gardening site for people who hate gardening - the lifestyle generation - called PickaPlant.
