Over the course of his career, Bill Holsinger-Robinson has been a web entrepreneur, consultant, business owner, scholar, chef, and competitive cyclist.
Most recently, Bill has been asked to fill the President role for a brand new incubator organization called Pomegranate Studios. The goal of Pomegranate is to ideate, develop and launch a wide variety of web enhanced businesses for a group of investors. His responsibilities will include leadership and P&L across all launched organizations, strategy, marketing, design, development, HR, etc. Pomegranate’s first major project is all development work for ArtPrize (www.artprize.org).
Additionally, Bill has been (and will continue to hold the position of) COO for Spout.com, an online community focused on films and the film industry. Spout has been a pioneer in re-thinking how movies get distributed and filmmakers market to their audiences. Bill has spoken on this topic at the Toronto International Film Festival and has been quoted in a wide variety of publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe and the Los Angeles Times.
Bill is also active in a number of other projects including:
- Momentum (www.momentum-mi.com), a pre-seed venture funding organization that aims to support the growth of web technology and design in Michigan. Bill serves Momentum as a Program Advisor/Mentor.
- Ellohay! (www.ellohay.org), a non-profit that is determined to make positive differences in the lives of underserved individuals through healthy, meaningful, lasting and sustainable relationships with technology. Bill serves Ellohay! as a member of the Board of Advisors.
Prior to joining Spout, Bill led e-business strategy and initiatives at Herman Miller, Inc. helping the furniture maker better communicate and align its business practices with their largest clients. He also led a consulting business, appliedthinking, where he focused on ideation, strategy, and communications for a wide range of clients.
A graduate of Alma College, Bill has worked as a chef and a scholar (teaching Comparative Religion, with a special focus on Developmental Psychology and Cognition, for 3 years at a university). He lives in Holland, Michigan, with his wife, son and adopted daughter. He does some of his best thinking while he puts thousands of miles on his bicycle, training for long-distance races.
